SPELLCLIMB
For schools
SpellClimb is spelling practice that runs itself in the background of your literacy block. A child hears a word, types it letter by letter, and climbs thirteen ranks from Mite to Myth. The game picks every word, matched to what each climber is ready for. Your teachers keep teaching.
How a school starts
- Ask us for a school grant with the enquiry form below. A grant carries your seat count and, where needed, your email domain.
- One admin redeems the grant and names the school. That person becomes the first school admin — nobody else is let in by the grant.
- Admins invite staff, or set the school email domain. A teacher on that domain can ask to join; an admin approves each person. A domain on its own never gives anyone access.
- Teachers make classes and hand out join cards. Each card works once: a scan or a short typed code signs that one device in. Children never create accounts.
- Leaders see totals, not children. A school or a whole group of schools — a diocese, a network of campuses — sees per-class totals only. No climber rows, no private names, no child ids.
What each person sees
Teachers
Their own classes: who is climbing, who is stuck, which spelling patterns to teach next. Summaries only — never live typing or keystrokes.
School admins
Every class in the school, seats in use, staff invites and join requests, and the settings classes cannot override.
Parents
Their own child, after a one-time claim code from a parent letter. Each use of data — learning core, keystrokes, research — is asked separately and can be withdrawn.
Children
The game, under a made-up gamertag. No real names, no birthdates, no photos, no chat, no login to remember.
Safeguards, plainly
- An adult grants consent before a climber's progress is stored. Withdrawing consent pauses storing; erasure deletes the record.
- Private names, if a school uses them at all, are visible only to that child's teacher, the school's admins, and a linked parent.
- A lone teacher can start without a school and bring their classes into one later, with no progress lost.
- Classes move, roll over each year, and archive. A climber moving schools keeps their climb; where a parent is linked, their confirmation comes first.
- Institutional use carries no ads. Signed-in child play carries no ads at all.
Cost
School pricing is not published yet, and enrolment stays in demo mode until it is. Seats come from your grant, so a pilot never hits a paywall mid-term. Ask below and we will tell you the pilot terms before you commit to anything.
Ask about your school
Tell us who you are and which school you are from. Please do not send pupil names or class lists — SpellClimb never needs them by email.
